The tap dancing, rom-com, docu-drama By Our Side: An Entertaining Kidney Transplant Story is doing a summer tour of the Eastern Townships.

By Our Side

We’re thrilled to announce that our tap dancing, rom-com, docu-drama By Our Side: An Entertaining Kidney Transplant Story has been awarded a CALQ grant for a summer tour of the Eastern Townships. This journey becomes more significant as my husband, Wayne Doba, and I are partnering with the team at community radio station CIDI 99.1 to bring you along for the ride.

Back in April, we produced three pilot episodes of Clowning Around The Townships featuring the Knowlton Players and their heartfelt production of Annie. So this summer, we’ll continue the project in search of various cultural events, capturing the voices of local artists and presenters who make our region so unique. This new venture is particularly exciting because it allows us to discover hidden gems within our community and, hopefully, inspire others to explore the cultural treasures around them.

This summer, we aim to bring By Our Side to as many people as possible. Living in a rural area means it is not always possible for everyone to drive great distances, so we are bringing the show to you ! We will be presenting it at the Sutton Canadian Legion on June 22 and July 19, Vivarté in Glen Sutton on August 2, La Chapelle M in Dunham on July 26, and the Piggery Theatre in North Hatley on June 28, July 23 and August 30. At a young age, I saw a theatre show there and it changed my life. This year, they are celebrating their 60th anniversary! To stand on the stage where I first dreamed of performing, beside the person I love, in a show we created to honor the person who saved my life — this is gratitude come full circle.
