Marché Sutton Market 2023

It’s always an exciting time when artisans and producers in the area reach out to become part of the “family” that is the Sutton Market. This year, we are putting more emphasis on events and demonstrations, things that during these past COVID years, we have had to scale back on.

Pop-up BBQs with local chefs

With the help of Sandra Jarry, founder and organizer of the Pop-up des fermes & restos, we are organizing a monthly BBQ pop-up with local chefs who will use local produce to cook up tasty bites at the market. We have confirmed that Kokkaku Ramen, Sugaree Farm and Comptoir Moutarde will be among us, cooking on charcoal one Saturday a month. Special thanks to the folks at the Canadian Legion for making this possible.

Entertainment for everyone

Sue Hamilton, co-owner of the Jardin Douce Amer and retired community nutritionist will be taking charge of the educational kiosk. She has planned for numerous activities for all ages. We support these efforts fully and think that education regarding agriculture, food production and conservation, as well as self-sustenance is paramount to our health and well-being.

The music program will also change. We will have numerous musicians taking turns throughout the summer to entertain us. This will create an even more dynamic environment for our vendors and market goers. We also hope to bring a petting zoo, a magician, perhaps face painting and more to the market this season.

Season has started!

Opening day was May 20th at 9 a.m.! And we are reverting to our usual 8 a.m. start time for the months of June, July and August. After labour day weekend, we will switch back to a 9 a.m. start time. Join in on the fun and come support our local growers, bakers, transformers, artists and artisans! You can follow on Instagram or on Facebook to keep abreast of upcoming events.
