Vitalité Frelighsburg has inaugurated a new walking trail in 2019 called FR 1 (For Frelighsburg Randonnée 1). This path of about 17 km meanders along the rivière aux Brochets in private forest and along municipal dirt roads. In total, there is roughly 7 km of trails in wild areas and 10 km on beautiful scenic dirt roads.
This project is an initiative of 20 volunteers. Vitalité Frelighsburg and private owners have signed a passage agreement. Vitalité patrols the path and keeps things in order
The path is closed during hunting season. Signs along the path are located at major intersections. Small yellow squares indicate the direction to walkers. Maps of the path can also be seen on the website of the municipality of Frelighsburg. This path is the first of others to come and answer a need for the local and tourist population (frelighsburg.com/tourism/walking).
