The Festival Knowlton Cinema will include many short films, “curtain raisers”, before each feature length presentation. It will also present a pre-festival event on Wednesday, August 24, showcasing short films by aspiring film-makers. In addition, the 2022 Festival will present two special outdoor film projections.

The 2022 edition, the Festival’s third season, returns to Theatre Lac Brome! It has an exciting, expanded program of films and conferences on the art of cinema, past and present. Opening on August 25 after a two-year pandemic pause, the Festival Knowlton du Cinéma will feel like it’s awakening from a restful nap says organizer and Board President Michèle Bazin. The Festival’s four days of eclectic feature films and shorts, the majority made by Quebec film-makers, includes work by a number of regional residents.

An Academy Award nominee for Best Animated Short Film, Gerald Potterton is best known for directing the cult classic Heavy Metal and The Railrodder with Buster Keaton. Mr. Potterton, a youthful 91 years of age, will present a selection of his work. Thus honouring his extensive contribution to Canadian Cinema.
